Whimbrels is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, within 5 minutes walk of the safe bathing beach of Daymer Bay, and 20 minutes walk along the cliff top to the busy surfing village of Polzeath.

Nearby Rock offers superb sailing, water skiing, golf at the well known links course of St. Enodoc, and excellent dining, including the Michelin starred St. Enodoc Hotel. From Rock, the ferry runs daily to the fishing port of Padstow, where Rick Steins’s internationally acclaimed Seafood Restaurant is just one of the places to eat. Fishing trips can be booked from both Rock and Padstow.

Other tourist attractions within an easy drive of Whimbrels include the Eden Project; historic Tintagel, reputed to be the home of King Arthur; the Camel Cycle Trail, which follows the old railway line from Padstow to Bodmin; and National Trust properties at Lanhydrock, and Trerice. The busy market town of Wadebridge has a cinema and excellent shopping facilities.

Further afield, the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth, the Tate at St. Ives, the National Marine Aquarium at Plymouth and numerous other attractions ensure that a holiday at Whimbrels can be as action packed or relaxing as you wish to make it.
